contradance in California. California Twirls includes the history of contradance
in California, a listing of the many regular dances in California, and
a listing of the bands and callers in California. Those of you reviewing the

- Join other contra dancers for a pot luck at the home of Paul Rys before the
dance. Paul is hosting a pot luck for our dancers at his home at 657 Evans Road
in San Luis Obispo (see
map).
Probably the easiest way to get there is to head out Broad Street from SLO,
passing the airport. Turn right on Buckley Road. Turn left on Davenport Road,
then left on Evans Road. The pot luck runs from 4pm to 7pm. You'll be able to
pick corn and other veggies (guaranteed fresh!). Bring other stuff to share,
and your own dishes. Call Paul at 805 543 2825 with any questions.

- Contra Dance Intro Workshop.... 7:30pm to 8:00pm
- Contra Dance................... 8:00pm to 11:00pm
- All dances (unless noted) are held at the SLO Veterans hall, 801 Grand Avenue, San Luis Obispo.
From highway 101, take the Grand Avenue exit and head away from Cal Poly. The Vets' Hall is
on the right in the last block of Grand Ave.
